With the success of the Philippines-Malaysian drama “A Time For Us” a.k.a. “Kahit Isang Saglit”, Double Vision and ABS-CBN will again collaborate for another drama series to be aired in 2009. This time it will star South Korean actress Eugene a.k.a. Kim Yoo Jin of the “Save the Last Dance for Me” and a “Wonderful Life” fame.
Other cast remains unconfirmed but reports say that the lead actor will be Filipino actor John Lloyd Cruz but there are other reports stating that the lead actor might be Filipino actor Piolo Pascual.
The said drama will have a tentative title of “Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka” (My Dream is to Love You).

The lead stars of ABS-CBN’s Koreanovela ‘Pangara Ko Ang Ibigin Ka’
Double Vision is so happy that ‘A Time For Us/Kahit Isang Saglit’, their very first project with ABS-CBN is their best show so far (This show has 65 episodes in Philippines, 26 episodes in Malaysia and Singapore in full high-definition 1080i format and 45 episodes in Hong Kong in full high-definition 1080i format. That’s why they will do another drama series with ABS-CBN for next year. Like what I posted here few days ago (you can read it here), this upcoming drama series is a Koreanovela, but on that time I still don’t know the show’s title and lead stars.
The Korean actress Eugene Kim is one of the lead stars of this Asianovela, which has a Filipino title of ‘Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka’ (for more details click here). Yes, she is Lizette, a single mom, on ‘One Mom and Three Dads’ (here in Philippines it is called as ‘Three Dads with One Mommy’). If you want to know the final episode of this show, my former Korean classmates (still my friends) gave me a link of the video of the whole series, you can watch it here. Philippines is the only country to broadcast the show internationally. Other countries don’t want it because of its low ratings in South Korea (both Seoul and Nationwide TV Ratings). I think ABS-CBN bought it because Filipinos especially mothers can relate with the story and also because it is Eugene Kim’s show. The ratings of this show here in Mega Manila are higher than in Seoul and based on NUTAM it is the No. 1 Korean drama series (nowadays). My friends told me that the next Koreanovela of Kapamilya is ‘Beethoven Virus’, but they are not sure if this will start on November since ‘Pinoy Fear Factor’ will run for almost an hour per episode.
After watching the whole series (especially the finale), I must say that the story is unfinished, more questions need to be answered. According to my Korean friends, the story of the show is planned to run for 2 seasons (2008 and 2009), but because of its low ratings, KBS is still undecided. According to my sources, the Filipino actors will be on this show are Piolo Pascual, Anne Curtis and Alessandra de Rossi. According to them, the shooting will start after the International Screenings of ‘land Down Under’, Piolo’s upcoming film with Angel Locsin. But my sources are not also sure beacuse they also heard that Piolo will do a teleserye with KC Concepcion. They are sure that the leading man won’t be John Lloyd Cruz (still on ‘I Love Betty la Fea’ for 9 months), Jericho (will do a teleserye with Kristine), Jake (will be the lead star of ‘Sineserye Presents The Ramon Revilla Sr. Cinema Collection: Nardong Putik’) and Sam (will do a Koreanovela remake). So, will it be Rafael Rosell (he’s too hot, but it is a ‘no’ for me)? Jon Avila (huh? why? hello?)? Gerald Anderson (duhhh!!!!)? Diether Ocampo (too old! but why not?)? Derek Ramsay (hmmm…)? Ryan Agoncillo (wedding next year?)? Luis Manzano (show your talent please!)? Zanjoe Marudo (it’s so windy! Bye!!!)? Victor Basa (will you ask his g4m friends)? Or Piolo Pascual (secret!!!)?
